The World Ag Expo is the North America's largest agricultural exposition. Each year it is held in Tulare, California, in the United States during the second week of February. It has officially been designated by the U.S. Department of Commerce, as an affiliate of the Foreign Buyer Program, which encourages exportation of American made goods. Prior to its 2001 rename, the event was titled "California Farm Equipment Show and International Exposition." The Expo started in 1968 and was attended by 28,000 people. The Expo outgrew its original home and moved to its current permanent location in 1982 where it occupies 2.5 million square feet. In 2006, the event featured more than 1,400 exhibitors, and was attended by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The 2008 Expo attracted visitors from as far as the Peoples Republic of China. The 2012 show was attended by 120,000 people and featured a concert by Trace Adkins and a speech by George W. Bush. Events included an FFA meeting attended by 2500 kids.
